Dylan Hooker – Driver/Team Founder

The LOC charge is led by owner and driver Dylan Hooker. Having been around cars, and turning wrenches since childhood, Dylan has always had a project on the side, whether building a VW Baja with his father, or prepping Toyotas for tarmac racing. Starting in mid-2003, Dylan began competing in the Redwood Sports Car Club’s Auto-X as well as the Friday night drags at the Samoa Drag Strip. Not satisfied with the challenge of these, and after a move to Portland, Oregon, Dylan first attended an Oregon Rally Group Rally-X in early 2005. It was there he met Tim Maple, Chief of Service for the Tabor Rally Team. Tim offered Dylan the driver’s seat of his Gp.2 VW GTi, which he successfully drove to a 2006 ORG Rally-X M2 Championship win, with 6 podium finishes. He also led the points through the 2007 season until a mechanical failure ended the season early.

While competing in Rally-X, Dylan was also active on the service crew for the Tabor Rally Team, and helped them achieve many podium finishes. Seeing the desire to compete on-stage, the Tabor family offered a car and service crew to Dylan for the 2007 Oregon Trail Rally. Placing 4th in Production class, Dylan successfully finished his first stage rally with no offs or mechanical issues. Dylan has also been successful in indoor karting, having qualifed pole position for class in both the Winter and Fall 2008 Sykart Indoor Racing Series seasons. In the Winter SIRS he placed 3rd overall in class, and 3rd overall as a Rookie, and placed 4th overall in GT4 and led his team to a 5th place overall finish in the Fall.

Dylan is very active in the Northwest rally community, having taken on many responsibilities in the planning and operations of many events. Dylan is currently the Chief of Controls/PIR Event Manager for the Oregon Trail Rally. He is also very active in the Rally-X community, designing courses, and is an SCCA Safety Steward.
